Jack Hudson Stewart
I am a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. I specialise in American politics and political theory. I'm especially interested in what can be done to improve (and insulate) public trust in election results.
Right now, I have a paper on ranked choice voting and public confidence in election results under consideration by a journal. Previously, I have written about the moderating effect of ranked choice in Australia, here.
I graduated from the University of Western Australia with a BPhil in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and First Class Honours in Political Science and International Relations, where my thesis won the Gordon S. Reid Prize in Parliamentary Politics. I've been a teaching assistant for introductory philosophy and senior political science classes, and have presented original empirical results to the Australian Political Studies Association in Sydney.
